It happened just before 1 p.m. on Pickering Drive near Dalhousie Street. Officers learned that paramedics were returning to their ambulance after completing a call when a vehicle narrowly missed them, forcing the paramedics to step away.

The vehicle then hit the ambulance, jumped a curb, and then drove off without stopping.

The suspect was quickly identified and found on Hawthorn Crescent off Pickering.

The driver has been charged with careless driving and failure to remain at the scene of a collision.
