Windsor Regional Hospital (WRH) gathered this week to honour its top contributors.
The hospital community gathered on Wednesday evening, at its quarterly Professional Staff Association meeting, to recognize the contributions of its top professional staff for 2025-2026.
"The evening brought together colleagues to celebrate excellence in clinical care, education, research, and leadership, while also highlighting the remarkable dedication and years of service that continue to shape our organization," read a release from the hospital. "This year’s award recipients exemplify the values that define our medical community."
The latest award recipients are as follows.
The Educator & Mentor Award went to Dr. Abdalla Shamisa for outstanding commitment to teaching, mentorship, and fostering a supportive learning environment.
The Excellence in Research Award went to Dr. Padmaja Naidu for advancing research in clinical obesity and metabolic health.
The Keystone Award was presented to Dr. Roli Agrawal, who was celebrated as a trusted and collaborative colleague whose expertise has had a meaningful impact across departments.
The Lifetime Achievement Award went to Dr. Corinna Quan for a distinguished career and lasting contributions to patient care and organizational excellence.
The Newcomer Award was presented to Dr. Jason Metcalf for exceptional leadership, team-focused approach, and commitment to education early in his tenure.
The Spirit of Medicine Award, presented in memory of Dr. Percy Demers, went to Dr. Takeshi Takahashi for embodying compassion, integrity, and exemplary leadership.
In addition to the award winners, professional staff who have had 35 to 50 years of service to the hospital were recognized.

"Their commitment to clinical excellence, innovation, and advancing healthcare has a meaningful impact on the patients and families we serve."
