GoFundMe campaign to help family of murdered Windsor woman

An organization that fights antisemitism is taking up a different kind of cause. It's raising money to help the family of a woman who was murdered in LaSalle earlier this year.

Tafsik Organization has launched a GoFundMe campaign, hoping to raise $11,000 for the family of Nancy Grewal, a personal support worker and social media influencer, who was stabbed to death on March 3 outside a home on Todd Lane.

The organization said Grewal came to Canada with hope, not to become a headline. She came to Canada from India for a life with dignity.

"Nancy's funeral was held on April 24, but the financial burden has been overwhelming," the organization wrote. "The costs associated with the funeral and related expenses have placed an enormous strain on her family, who are now in desperate need of financial assistance as they continue to cope with this devastating loss."

Money raised will help cover funeral costs, pay for close family members to travel from India to Canada, and cover accommodation and transport, as well as the handling of Grewal's belongings and personal affairs.

"Tafsik has built a strong friendship with the Indian community as we stand together against Jew hatred and Hinduphobia," continued the campaign. "In this difficult time, we must show our support for our Indian friends and stand with Nancy's family as they navigate this profound tragedy."

So far, LaSalle Police have not made an arrest in Grewal's murder.
