Donation to VON will provide 1,200 meals to seniors

The Victorian Order of Nurses, or VON, can provide approximately 1,200 meals for its Meals on Wheels program thanks to a donation from Caesars Windsor Cares.

Caesars Windsor Cares passed over a cheque for $10,000 on Thursday during a cheque presentation ceremony.

Meals on Wheels is a vital initiative providing emergency meal assistance to seniors facing financial hardship, illness, or an unexpected life change.

"A simple meal can make a profound difference in someone's life," said Manager of Home and Community Care at VON Windsor-Essex, Khrista Boon. "Caesars Windsor Cares' donation goes beyond food. It provides dignity, comfort, and reassurance to seniors who may be facing some of life's most challenging moments."

Team members from Caesars Windsor Cares joined Meals on Wheels drivers during their deliveries throughout the community, getting a first-hand look at the value of their donation and the difference it makes.

Meals on Wheels supports those who may be unable to shop for groceries or prepare meals on their own because of age, illness, recovery from surgery, or disability. Drivers provide five meals a week.

Caesars Windsor Cares is Caesars Entertainment's corporate giving program.
