A Windsor-Essex singer and songwriter is among the finalists in the search for Canada's next up-and-coming star.
Country Rising presented by Cottage Springs, a nationwide talent search for Canadian country talent, has named Tecumseh's Carson Janik as one of the three finalists for the 2026 edition of the competition.
The winner of the competition will receive a $10,000 cash prize and a recording contract with Starseed Records.
Janik's career is already on a roll, with his first three singles added to over 100 country music stations across Canada, even going to number-one on Sirius XM's Top of the Country chart.
His single "Choked Up" has racked up over 750,000 downloads on various streaming platforms, according to Janik's official website. He is in the midst of a Canadian and US tour.
The other finalists in the competition are Paige Penney of St. John's, Newfoundland, and Emma Kade of Radium Hot Springs, British Columbia.
Voting for the winner is already live, with the ballot closing on July 20.
