Three charged after girl drugged, sexually assaulted in Windsor

Windsor police say three young people have been charged following a sexual assault.

Investigators from the Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Unit (CASA) began a probe on Father's Day, after receiving a complaint about an assault at a home on St. Louis Avenue near Wyandotte Street East.

Police say that the 16-year-old girl was attending a get-together at the house when one suspect allegedly gave her a drink that had been laced with a chemical. This significantly impaired the teen, who was then sexually assaulted by two other suspects.

A second girl was physically assaulted after trying to stop the attack, police added.

All three suspects were quickly identified.

On Monday, police arrested 18-year-old Ali Abazar Ali Khal Hussain in east Windsor. He is charged with sexual assault and assault.

On Tuesday, the two other suspects turned themselves in at Windsor police headquarters.

Connor Sterling, 19, is charged with sexual assault. A 17-year-old boy, who can't be named under the Ontario Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with choking, sexual assault, overcoming resistance to an offence, and administering a drug.

The charges have not been proven in court.
