Two charged after theft of air conditioner

Two men are facing charges after a $10,000 air conditioning unit was stolen from a home on Cabana Road East earlier this month.

Windsor police were called to the home just before 8:30 a.m. on June 11. They learned two suspects went to the home just before 6 a.m., cut the wiring to the home's air conditioning unit and then took off with the stolen air conditioner.

The unit has since been recovered.

Windsor police arrested a 35-year-old on Richmond Street in Windsor on June 17. He was charged with property damage and theft.

On June 29, the Ontario Provincial Police Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement Squad arrested the second suspect at a home in Lakeshore. The 44-year-old was charged with operation while prohibited, property damage, theft, and breach of probation.
