Primaris REIT plans to tear down former HBC store at Devonshire Mall

Devonshire Mall is in for more big changes.

Almost two years after the former Sears store at Devonshire Mall was torn down and replaced with a new entrance at the north end, it appears there's more demolition work around the corner.

Primaris REIT, which owns the former Hudson's Bay Store at the south end of the mall, plans to demolish the store and redesign the mall entrance.

The HBC store in Devonshire Mall closed on June 1, 2025.

Primaris REIT released an update on the space on Tuesday.

The closure and demolition of the store in Windsor is the latest development for the Hudson's Bay Company following its filing for bankruptcy protection in March 2025.

The company is older than Canada itself, having been founded in the 1600s.
