The City of Windsor has started construction on a new accessible playground in South Walkerville.
A new playground at Optimist Memorial Park will replace the existing equipment and create a more inclusive, accessible, and engaging play space for children.
The $446,000 project includes rubber surfacing, a new concrete sidewalk around the perimeter of the playground, new furnishings, and drainage improvements.
Construction is expected to last until mid-August.
The city asks the public to stay away from the construction site until it is complete.
The project is in addition to the $16.3-million spent to replace 35 playgrounds across the city, and create a new "super playground" at Lanspeary Park.
