The first candidate to file their nomination papers to become Windsor's next mayor has released their platform.
Owner of Culture Shock Bead Co near downtown Windsor, Kat Pasquach said she's running for mayor to make the city a better place.
Her platform revolves around fiscal responsibility, housing, crime reduction and road safety.
"It doesn't cover anything, but it's definitely where I know I can direct my energy and help come up with solutions for the city that we haven't explored," said Pasquach.
You may not see a lot of lawn signs or printed materials from Pasquach throughout the campaign. She said that's on purpose because she wanted to take an eco-friendly and fiscally responsible approach to this campaign.
"When I talk about fiscal responsibility, I wanted to launch a platform that starts from the get-go with the promise to spend as little as possible on this campaign to make sure that I can demonstrate that taking a budget, a small budget, I can make that money go a long way," said Pasquach.
Her full platform can be found on her website.
Incumbent Mayor Drew Dilkens has not declared his intentions for the upcoming election.
Potential candidates have until August 21 to file nomination papers.
The only current Windsor councillor who has filed is Ward 8 Councillor Gary Kaschak.
The election is October 26, 2026, with advance voting starting on October 10.
