The latest crime statistics from Windsor Police suggest crimes against people and property continue to slide.
For both Amherstburg and Windsor, crimes against people were down 17.5 per cent in July compared to July 2025. The drop was fueled by a decrease in threats and criminal harassment. That was down 34.9 per cent, whille sexual violations fell 20.7 per cent, and assaults declined by 13.7 per cent.
Crimes against people in both communities fell 14.2 per cent in July, fueled by a decline in the number of charges for possession of stolen property, which fell 65.4 per cent. Thefts dropped 12.6 per cent, while there was a 17.7 per cent drop in fraud charges and an 18.7 per cent decline in break-and-enter charges.
Property crime in Windsor, specifically, fell 14.9 per cent, while crimes against people were down 17.3 per cent.
In Amherstburg, crimes against people fell 21.4 per cent, but property crimes increased 21.1 per cent.
