13-year-old charged in Windsor stabbing

A teenage boy is facing charges following an overnight stabbing in Windsor.

Windsor police were called at around 2:30 a.m. Friday to Jefferson Boulevard near Queen Elizabeth Drive. When they arrived, they found a 16-year-old boy with stab wounds.

The victim was rushed to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators learned that the victim and the suspect, who were known to each other, got into a fight that became physical.

Police arrested a 13-year-old boy at an east-end house at around 4 a.m.

He is charged with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, and failure to comply with a release order.

His name is not being released in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The charges have not been proven in court.
