LaSalle Police are responding after a jump in complaints related to e-scooters.
They've had complaints about them being used unsafely on roads, in parking lots, and within local parks.
Riders caught contravening Town of LaSalle bylaws and the Highway Traffic Act are being stopped and, in some cases, fined.
The minimum age allowed to ride on e-scooters in LaSalle is 16, and if police stop an underage rider, they will contact that person's parents or guardians.
There's no set fine for riding an e-scooter underage, but the individual's parents may have to attend court.
Police also remind riders they need to have a bike light on the scooter, and failure to do so could result in a $110 fine.
The Canadian Paediatric Society reported ten deaths related to e-scooter use across Canada in the past year.
