It didn't take long for Windsor police to arrest a 62-year-old man in connection with a downtown arson.
Firefighters responded to a call at around 7:30 a.m. on Monday in the area of Wyandotte Street East near Goyeau Street. When police also arrived, they determined that someone had broken a window on the northeast side of a business, lit something on fire, and thrown it inside.
The fire was quickly put out, and no injuries were reported.
A suspect was quickly identified after police reviewed security camera footage.
Within 50 minutes of the first call, the suspect was found nearby and arrested. A torch lighter and a piece of magazine paper were recovered.
The suspect is charged with arson causing property damage and possession of an incendiary device.
The charges have not been proven in court.
