Routine stop in Kingsville leads to driver facing nine charges

A traffic stop over a licence plate infraction has led to a 31-year-old driver facing numerous citations.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say a patrol officer was on duty Friday on Road 2 East in Kingsville when they spotted the vehicle and stopped it.

While checking the licence plate, additional violations were uncovered.

The male driver is facing a total of nine charges, including two counts of obstructing a licence plate, driving without insurance, using a plate not authorized for the vehicle, and failure to apply for ownership.

He is also charged with driving with obstructed or coated windows, driving without a validated permit, and having an improper or defective muffler.

The vehicle was towed.
