Amherstburg's new constructed Waterfront Festival Plaza is officially open to residents.
The waterfront project includes shoreline improvements, accessible walkways, benches, and landscaping.
"It has been a long time coming and we are so grateful and thankful for the community support, their patience and understanding as we worked to open this and make this a great park for the community," said Heidi Baillargeon, Director of Parks, Facilities, and Recreation.
The site has also been prepared for future amenities like an amphitheatre .
"Future washrooms, a future marina, will be in the plans when budget permits but for now we're happy to be opening it up as a park for the community to enjoy," said Baillargeon.
The project cost $3,060,000 and took over two years to complete.
Amherstburg's Uncommon Festival will be held in the park this fall.
