On Tuesday, Unifor will begin contract talks with the last of the Detroit Big 3, Stellantis.
The union announced the start of talks on Monday morning, just after its members at General Motors ratified their new three-year deal.
Talks with Stellantis are expected to follow the bargaining pattern set in contract negotiations with Ford and General Motors.
The opening session with Stellantis will also be at the Sheraton Centre in downtown Toronto.
Unifor Local 444 President James Stewart says one of the biggest challenges in talks is the trade war with the U.S.
"We are under attack," said Stewart. "That makes it difficult to achieve the pattern. That makes it difficult getting investments."
Stewart would like to see investments in the Windsor Assembly Plant.
"There's all kinds of possibilities," he said. "Something we can solidify the third shift for the long term. There's room there for investments."
He says talks will also focus on the long-term viability of the Brampton Assembly Plant and the Etobicoke Casting Plant.
Unifor represents about 6,000 workers at the Windsor Assembly Plant.
The contract with Stellantis expires on September 20.
