Francis touts overall plan as campaign winds down

Windsor Mayoral candidate Fred Francis is encouraging Windsor voters to review his 140-point plan before casting their ballots on Monday.

Francis says he's built his campaign on a message of hope for real change at City Hall that will result in a more vibrant community.

"This is a plan that is going to be a living document. We will work with all members of city council, we will work with members of administration, and we'll work with members of the community and stakeholders in the community to make the plan better. What workers we'll action immediately and what needs work we'll continue to work on it," said Francis.

He believes he'll be ready to hit the ground running and will be able to implement many facets of his plan within the first 100 days in office.

"Opening City Hall up again to the media, to the residents, doing the review structures with respect to the committees. Bringing in stakeholders, talking to stakeholders to see how we can formulate better committees, better involvement, better engagement from residents," said Francis.

Francis' plan focused on revitalizing downtown, safety in neighbourhoods, and ending strong mayor powers.

He's one of 11 candidates running for mayor of Windsor. Other candidates include incumbent Drew Dilkens, Benjamin Danyluk, Aaron Day, Dylon Graves, Tara Grayer, Nick Kolasky, Tristan Ty Morencie, Kat Pasquach, Patrick Sutherland, and Louis Vautopic.

Election Day is October 26, 2026. Voting hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
