The Municipal Election is only a day away, and the City of Windsor is reminding voters that the polls are open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the city and across Ontario.
In Windsor, voters can cast their ballot at any location in their ward. Locations are listed on the city's website.
Across the county, voters can find their polling station in Leamington, Kingsville, Amherstburg, Lakeshore, and Essex. LaSalle is holding its vote online, while in Tecumseh, the vote is by phone.
Voters should have already received their Voter Notification Cards, but if you haven't received one, don't worry. You can still vote if you bring a piece of government photo identification, like a driver's license, health card, or passport.
All the identification that will be accepted at polls is listed here. The rules are the same no matter what municipality a voter resides in.
If your Voter Notification Card has incorrect information, still bring it to the polling location, along with acceptable identification. The information will be corrected at the polling station. New cards won't be issued, but you can still vote.
If you can't go to the polls on Election Day, you can appoint a person to go on your behalf. Proxy forms are available for pickup at the Office of the City Clerk at 350 City Hall Square West, Suite 530. The office can also be reached by calling 519-255-6100 ext. 6285.
Eligible voters can get a ride to the polling station on Transit Windsor buses. Just let the bus driver know you are on your way to cast your ballot.
