Windsor, LaSalle seek to fill vacancies on boards and committees

Both Windsor and LaSalle are looking for volunteers to fill vacancies on their boards and committees.

Anyone who wants to help shape their city or town is invited to apply.

"Serving on a board or committee is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of LaSalle," said a release from the Town of LaSalle. "Members bring valuable community perspectives, share their knowledge and experience, and provide advice on community impact."

The Town of LaSalle is recruiting members of the public for its Accessibility Advisory Committee, By-law Appeal Committee, Committee of Adjustment, Court of Revision, and Police Services Board.

In addition to helping elected officials reach decisions, involvement in a board or committee provides an opportunity to learn more about municipal government, learn new skills, and connect with others.

Windsor, being a larger community, has more vacancies to fill. The city is looking for residents willing to volunteer on the Committee of Adjustment, International Relations Committee, Licensing Commission, Property Standards Committee, Windsor Accessibility Advisory Committee, Windsor-Detroit Tunnel Corporation, Windsor-Essex Community Housing Corporation, Windsor Police Services Board, Windsor Public Library Board, and the YQG Board of Directors.

In LaSalle, applications will be accepted until 4:30 p.m. on Friday, November 13. The application is posted on LaSalle's municipal website.

Windsor will accept applications for the Windsor Police Services Board until 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 18, and all other boards and committees until Tuesday, December 1. Applications are available on the city's municipal website, or applicants can pick up a printed copy in the main lobby at 350 City Hall Square West.
