It's game five for the Admirals and the 73s in a Jr.C hockey playoff series that's split down the middle, and the biggest challenge for Amherstburg may be Essex Memorial Arena.
The 73s haven't lost a playoff game at home in four years. "Ever since Gil Langlois took that team over four years ago, they've been 27-and-0 in Great Lakes playoffs," says Admirals head coach Paul Bortignon. "We're not the only team that's had trouble with it. It's been every team that's gone in there before."
Despite the odds, Bortignon says the team won't let tonight's location intimidate them on the ice. "I think you've got to look at it as a great opportunity to beat them at home in such a long time."
The Admirals won game four 2-1 Sunday, handing the 73s just their second playoff loss this postseason.
Game 6 is 7pm Friday at the Libro Credit Union Centre in Amherstburg.
