The Windsor Spitfires posted their first loss of the regular season on Thursday, falling 3-1 to the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds.
The Greyhounds took a 1-0 advantage six minutes into the first period, and extend their lead to 2-0 half way through the second. Cole Purboo cut the Greyhounds' lead in half with a goal 6:49 into the third period, but Sault Ste. Marie ensured their win with another goal with less than a minute remaining.
Goalie Michael DiPietro made 25 saves for Windsor.
The Spitfires travel to Mississauga on Friday to face off against the Steelheads at 7pm.
