The 73's took a 2-0 lead in the first period and extended it to 6-0 in the second. Essex capped off their shutout with another four unanswered goals in the final frame.
Tyler Scott led Essex with a hat trick, followed by Blake McConville who scored twice. Luke Gecse, Eric Shaw, Tyler Boughner, Ryan Market and David Cooke all scored one goal as well.
The 73's face the Flags in Mooretown on Saturday starting at 7:30pm.
The man was charged in March with sexual assault offences.
