Spitfires Prepare For OHL Priority Selection

The general manager for the Windsor Spitfires says the team will be looking to bolster their team's lineup in every position as they head into the 2017 OHL draft this weekend.

"With the exception of goaltending, we need to add some players to forward and [defence], so we'll probably go with the best available player at the time of the pick," says GM Warren Rychel.

The Spitfires currently hold the 17th and 96th overall picks in the draft with a number of later round picks for a total of 14.

"Obviously with a good record this year we're down in the draft," says Rychel. "There's some mid-round picks that we're going to have to make count and we're working on that right now."

Rychel wouldn't go into detail about which players the Spitfires may be looking to draft, but says there's a few who are worth taking chances on.

The 2017 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection takes place this Saturday beginning at 9am.
