Spitfires Make Trade With Bulldogs

The Windsor Spitfires have acquired centre Luke Kutkevicius in a trade with the Hamilton Bulldogs.

In return, the Bulldogs will receive Sudbury's sixth round pick in 2018 and Windsor's fifth in 2021, which is a performance-based conditional pick that could become a fourth in 2021.

Kutkevicius, a 6'1", 162 lbs Toronto native, was originally Mississauga's second round pick in the 2014 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection.

“Luke brings experience and speed down the middle,”says Spitfires General Manager Warren Rychel. “He'll get the chance to play a big role and will be a nice addition to our leadership group.”

The 19-year-old played for one season with the Steelheads before landing with the Bulldogs. He played in 95 games over the 2016-20 seasons, scoring six goals and 16 assists.

Kutkevicius will be on the ice when training camp opens on August 28.
