The University of Windsor will have some representation in Paris later this summer.
Brett Lumley, an associate head coach for the Lancers' track program, was named by Athletics Canada as an event coach for Team Canada, at the upcoming Paralympics.
"I am honoured to represent Canada in Paris, to work with this very talented and motivated team, supporting them as they pursue their push to the podium," said Lumley in a media release. "My years at the University of Windsor have provided the platform in which I have been able to hone my coaching skills. I appreciate and acknowledge the support that is continually provided by the entire Lancer family."
Lumley will be one of four event coaches for a team of ten Canadian Paralympians. He will work directly with eight of the athletes.
His expertise includes the jumps and throws, in addition to the 4 x100-metre universal relay.
Canada will send about 130 athletes to Paris for the Paralympics, scheduled for August 28 to September 8.
