The London Knights are Memorial Cup champions once again.
The Knights repeated as OHL champions, but made good on their desire to be CHL champions this time around a year after falling short in last year's tournament, when they lost in the final to Saginaw.
Rimouski played host this year, with QMJHL champions Moncton, who the Knights defeated in the semi-final, and the WHL champion Medicine Hat Tigers all competing.
The Knights opened the scoring in the first off a sweet backhand from Jacob Julien. Then, they poured it on with a three goal second period, as Easton Cowan scored for his tournament leading 7th point, and Knights Captain Denver Barkey scored a pair, including one on a power play.
Medicine Hat would get one back in the third courtesy of highly touted 2026 NHL Draft prospect Gavin McKenna, who thought he had scored a second, but it was quickly called back for a missed high stick.
Austin Elliott made 31 saves for the Knights, who won the Memorial Cup for the first time in 2005, followed by another win in 2016 before this year's triumph.
Cowan, a Leaf's prospect, became the first player since 1972 to lead the Memorial Cup tournament in scoring in back-to-back seasons, also tying former Knight Mitch Marner for the most points in franchise history at the event with 15.
The tournament is being hosted in 2026 by the WHL in Kelowna, B.C. It will return to the OHL in 2027, but the host has yet to be announced, with many speculating that Kitchener could well be named.
