Ontario Goat is going to work with the OSPCA in investigations of animal welfare complaints on Ontario goat farms.
That's part of a recently-signed Memorandum of Agreement between the two groups.
Kendra Keels of Ontario Goat says the goal is education over enforcement.
Ontario Goat will be involved in training sessions to help OSPCA inspectors get a better understanding of the sector and it's common production practices.
Keels says they will also provide a knowledgeable industry representative to accompany inspectors on goat farm calls.
The Ontario Goat/OSPCA memorandum is the 8th signed between the society and provincial commodity groups.
