Huron County hog producer Amy Cronin has been re-elected Chair of Ontario Pork.
This is Cronin's fourth one-year term as chair of the provincial organisation.
She says 2015 is going to be a different year from 2014 with expected lower prices as the U-S industry recovers from PED.
Cronin is confident Ontario producers are implementing things on their farms to be able to withstand those market changes.
She's also optimistic the industry will be able to eradicate PED from a number of Ontario herds this year, once the weather warms up.
Cronin says Ontario Pork will also continue to look at the processing capacity issue in the province.
2 Ontario hog processors went out of business last year - Quality Meats in Toronto and Great Lakes Speciality Meats in Mitchell.
Cronin says Ontario Pork would love to attract some investments in provincial pork processing in the future.
Ontario Pork's Vice-Chair for 2015 is Eric Schwindt.
And there's a vacancy on the board with the retirement of Beth Clark.
Her Grey Bruce Director's spot will remain vacant until a candidate is named from that zone.
