He says Northern Leaf Blight pressures have increased dramatically in Ontario in the past three years.
According to Jacques - it's not a hard disease to control - but timing is critical.
He says the best time is typically when the tassels start emerging.
Jacques also has a caution for soybean growers.
He says there's a high risk of white mould and other leaf diseases this year.
Fields to watch are those where beans are planted after beans, conventional till, good fertility and a susceptible variety.
Jacques says fungicides applied at the R 2.5 stage are the best bet to control those problems.
