Grain Farmers of Ontario appealed the dismissal of the case surrounding the province's new seed treatment regulations on Wednesday, March 9. A panel of judges reserved their decision on the Grain Farmers of Ontario's request for appeal on the dismissal of the case. The case included a request for a stay on the regulations and interpretation of the regulations for neonicotinoid-treated seeds.
Nearly two hundred grain farmers filled the courthouse, showing support for the case and their concern over it. The farmers arrived from across Ontario on five buses, as well as by car and train. Grain Farmers of Ontario would like to thank all farmer-members for their show of support. The request for an appeal was heard by a panel of three judges including Justice Laskin, Justice Cronk and Justice Miller.
