It could be a wet weekend in portions of southwestern Ontario.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Bruce County, Chatham-Kent, Grey County, Huron County, Perth County, Sarnia-Lambton, Wellington County, and Windsor-Essex.
Forecasters are tracking a system that could bring up to 50 millimetres of rain between Saturday morning and Sunday morning, though Environment Canada said there could be more.
"Showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop over southwestern Ontario in the morning before moving into the Greater Golden Horseshoe in the afternoon," read the statement from Environment Canada. "Given the potential for slow-moving showers and thunderstorms and for some areas to receive multiple rounds of precipitation, local amounts exceeding 50 millimetres are possible."
Areas east of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay could see additional rain on Sunday.
"Note that rainfall amounts will be highly variable across the region, and not all areas will receive this much rain," added the statement. "There remains considerable uncertainty as to exactly which areas will receive the highest rainfall amounts."
