At its annual general meeting this spring, Holstein Canada will bestow its Certificate of Recognition to an Atwood Farmer.
The group says Steve Dolson is well deserving of the award, as he's been a long-time member and earned a Master Breeder Shield.
Perth County Holstein Club nominator Tara Reynolds says on top of all that goes into running a modern dairy farm, Dolson has still managed to devote time to the industry and his efforts have benefitted many others at the regional, provincial and national level.
Dolson was President of the club in 2003.
He's also credited with bringing in the on-farm conformation competition - the Breeder's Cup.
Holstein Canada notes the first such competition took place in Perth County in 2006 and is now held in almost every county of the province.
The owner of Legacy Holsteins is also a past Perth County 4-H leader and still serves as an Ontario 4-H Foundation Trustee.
Dolson is also Chairman of the Board at Gay Lea Foods and played a large part in the company's decision to invest $140 million into pursuing innovative and nutritional dairy ingredients across Canada.
The Certificate of Recognition will be presented at Holstein Canada's April 8th gathering in Richmond Hill.
There Albert Cormier of Orton, Ontario will also receive the Certificate of Superior Accomplishment.
