Last week's cattle markets were lighter across the board.
The Beef Farmers of Ontario report 1,315 less head of stocker and feeder cattle sold last week than in the one prior.
BFO says auction markets for them traded actively with solid demand.
Just 302 fed steers and heifers sold last week - less than half that of the week before - and for the third time in the last four weeks, fed steer and heifer prices travelled in opposite directions.
The farmers note steers sold for an average price of $144.45, down $4.27 for the week.
Heifers gained $2.15, averaging $145.12.
The 2,400 head of cull cows sold last week was also down about 500 from the previous seven days.
BFO points out they lost 86 cents throughout the week, averaging $71.62.
Ontario railgrade prices held steady again with prices between $249 and $251, about 42 dollars less than this time last year.
