With April designated as "Be A Donor" month, Chatham-Kent police, fire and EMS services are imploring residents to register for organ donation.
The cause sees emergency personnel wearing green ribbons in memory of Constable Renee Cowell's daughter Bailey, who died following a heart transplant.
Cowell says they hope to spread awareness of the huge need for organ donations. "Green ribbons will be visible on emergency vehicles. Large ribbons will be fixed to all emergency headquarters, and an organ donation flag will be flown in front of the Economic Development building on Grand Ave. in Chatham."
This marks the 14th year of the campaign. You can register to be an organ and tissue donor at beadonor.ca/ckha.
