Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne is talking to auto industry executives in Windsor today, about how the country's newly appointed auto czar can attract business.
She won't say how much money is being devoted to Ray Tanguay's position, but says that funding is just one aspect of enticing new investors. "It's about that coordination of services. It's about our readiness to accept new investment in Ontario and to help new businesses find their way through government, to make sure that all the services are in place."
Wynne also discussed the need to get young people excited about manufacturing careers in order to keep our workforce strong.
When asked why a local company lost out on a bid to build a new ferry for Pelee Island, the premier simply explained that the company didn't meet specific requirements and the awarding of the contract to a Chilean manufacturer will not be re-opened.
