A Ridgetown native has recently returned home with silver around his neck following the Under-16 National Championships in Saskatchewan. Ursuline College student Ryan Malott, 15, pitched for Team Ontario at the event to help earn his team second place at the baseball championship. He was also selected to the all-star team as pitcher. "I was happy with the silver because we got to play teams from all over Canada, which was pretty neat," says Malott. "We did fairly well (and) it was cool to see where our skill level was." Malott says he's been playing baseball since he was seven years old and hopes to one day try out to play baseball for Team Canada.
