SPCA Caring For Cruelty Case Dogs

While three people charged in last week's animal cruelty investigation are expected to see another 92 charges each today, the SPCA is still dealing with the dogs.

Inspector Brad Dewar says all of the 31 live animals and one that was dead at the property were pt bull type dogs.

He says the SPCA has been getting calls from people who have missing dogs wondering if theirs was at the property.

"All the dogs are believed to be owned by the accused and are not anyone's pet," he says. "The dogs were found in various health states each dog has been assessed and a property treatment plan has been put in place."

He says it is up to the courts to determine what happens to them next but because they are pit bulls they would have to be taken to another province if there is an opportunity to find them homes.
