It would appear Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent were pretty lucky as a cold front moved through the region Friday morning.
The front brought rain to the region along with some gusty winds, but Environment Canada Severe Weather Meteorologist Geoff Coulson says the worst has passed, and what it's leaving behind is much more seasonal for November.
"The next big part of the weather story is an end to the glorious temperatures of the last few days; September in November if you will," says Coulson. "This cold front (will usher) in a cooler brand of air, a more seasonal brand of air."
The temperature is expected to fall to 10 C (50 F) Friday afternoon while Saturday's high will only reach 11 C (52 F) and Sunday's, just 9 C (48 F).
Coulson says the region may still get some good gusts of wind, up to 60 km/hr, but nowhere near the 80 km/hr gusts that whipped across southwestern Ontario this morning, prompting the agency to issue a special weather statement.
Those strong winds are now battering areas along the Georgian Bay and north of Toronto.
