Sarnia police say arrests have been made in connection with the city's first murder of the year following a vehicle pursuit.
A news release Sunday says Ontario Provincial Police were involved in a pursuit of a vehicle of interest in the ongoing investigation into the homicide of Jonathan Pike in the area of Michigan Line and Hwy. 21.
Police say stop sticks were used to end the pursuit. A 27-year-old female and a 30-year-old male were arrested and are facing charges under the Criminal Code of Canada and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
Sarnia police continue to investigate the homicide and were conducting a follow-up investigation on Michigan Line.
The body of Jonathan Patrick Pike, 26, of Sarnia, was found by police in a wooded area just west of Tashmoo Ave. during the early morning hours on Friday.
Cause of death has not been released yet although sources have told BlackburnNews.com that gunshots were heard in the Tashmoo area.
Pike had worked at Purdy Fisheries and his father and brother are also employed at the Point Edward business.
Police are asking for the public's help in the investigation.
