The damages could reach $1-million after a fire broke out at a two-storey building along the Thames River west of Chatham.
Fire crews say they were called to the scene at 4977 Bradley Line at around 9:40pm Tuesday night, to find the building already burning when they got there. Fire officials were still on scene Wednesday morning, where trails of smoke could still be scene coming from the back of the house.
North Kent Councillor Leon LeClair has told BlackburnNews.com the home belonged to the late John D. Bradley, a Chatham-Kent developer who passed away in September.
Investigators are still trying to determine the cause, but the damages are estimated at between $500,000 and $1-million.
No one was home at the time of the fire, and there were no injuries or fatalities were reported. Investigators with the Ontario Fire Marshal's Office is attending the scene to help determine the cause of the blaze.
