Craft Beer Festival Sold Out Again

Craft beer and cider are still as popular as ever in Chatham-Kent.

And the organizers of the second annual Flights and Flasks event at The Kent 1874 in Chatham tonight are experiencing that first-hand.

Alysson Storey with The Kent 1874 says they sold out even quicker this year than they did in 2015.

"We're further ahead this year than we were last [year], so we're really excited," says Storey. "We've got a great lineup this year and we've obviously got an eager audience in our local community that is eager to join us, which is great."

Storey says while the event connects consumers to craft brews, it also helps local farmers to connect with brewers from across the region.

"There are a lot of farmers here who are starting to get into hops growing and there are a lot of very successful and knowledgeable fruit growers," says Storey. "If we can showcase Chatham-Kent as a supplier, I think that's a win-win -- definitely."

Several local brewers will be showing off their products including Bayside Brewing out of Erieau and Sons of Kent Brewing based out of Chatham.

There will also be several exhibitors from across the region including Brew Windsor, Anderson Craft Ales (London), Walkerville Brewery (Windsor), and Cameron's Brewing (Oakville).

Normally, tickets would be available at the door, but Storey says that's not the case this year.

"I would love to say for tickets, join us on the website, but the tickets are all gone," says Storey.

The event runs from 7pm - midnight.
