CK YA Call Centre Hiring Frenzy Continues

The YA call centre in Chatham has already added 100 employees during its latest wave of hiring.

The company has been hiring since the end of April and plans to hire 125 more people, nearly tripling its workforce in Chatham-Kent by the end of June.

Rob Wright was hired two weeks ago and says it's been great.

"Fantastic, it's by far the best environment that I've ever worked in. From reps on the floor all the way up to corporate. The environment here, they're employees first, it's fun and it's light-hearted but they're also down to business when it needs to be," says Wright.

There's a job fair in Windsor on Wednesday from 1pm to 7pm at Caesars Windsor in the Luna and Solis room.

Another job fair will be held at YA's Chatham office at 730 Richmond St. June 13 between 1pm and 6pm.

Kendel Henry was hired three weeks ago and says the friendly environment and the good training program attracted her.

"I've learned a bunch of new programs in the last two weeks, it was difficult at first but when you get the hang of it... it gets better. I've taken some calls and it's scary at first but when you get to do it more, it's really fun," Henry says.

Nancy Playfoot has been at YA for three weeks and says it's nice to be back.

"I am a returning employee, I've been here before and what brought me back was the memories I had. I never had any ill feelings when I left the first time. It is a good place, lots of things have changed but lots of things have stayed the same too," says Playfoot.
