This year's RetroFest Classic Car Cruise on May 25 will have a different route.
Organizers say the change is required because of the growing safety concerns on the roads used in the past. The 5th Street Bridge is still under construction.
The new route is getting a thumbs up from the Car Club, Chatham-Kent police, and Chatham-Kent Engineering.
The classic cars, 25 years and older, will be staged at the Bradley Centre. The cruise will begin at 6pm and will go west on Richmond St., south on Bloomfield Rd., continuing southwest and looping around North and South Buxton before coming back to downtown Chatham. The cars will be split into separate directions at Wellington St. and 2nd St. to loop downtown King St.
J.Quaglia Law is sponsoring the 2018 RetroFest Entertainment.
“We are proud to be able to accept local sponsorships from companies that are community leaders, innovators and incubators for success. We truly believe that Quaglia Law has invested their time and interest in Chatham-Kent time and time again and therefore are the perfect company to kick off our sponsorship race,” says Summit Shows Canada owner Chris Glassford.
“RetroFest has been a family favourite since our kids were in grade school! The event is such a huge success and seems to keep getting bigger and better each year. RetroFest is an excellent event that highlights what is great about our community and we are happy to contribute,“ say Christina and Jon Quaglia.
Summit Shows Canada says more sponsors are needed and they hope to raise more funding to take the event to new levels. Businesses interested in sponsoring the event can check out the packages at SummitShowsCanada.ca/stagesponsors.
