White BMW recovered, suspect charged
Chatham-Kent police have arrested a suspect after a vehicle with some distinctive licence plates was reported stolen in Chatham over the weekend.
Police said a white 2008 BMW with the personalized licence plates ICEMANN1 was sitting in a parking lot on Grand Avenue West on Sunday before it was taken.
Investigators said they were able to identify the person who stole it and also determined that he had stolen the owner's keys from her coat pocket while she was still at work before finding the vehicle in a nearby parking lot.
Officers found the vehicle unoccupied on Forest Street in Chatham on Tuesday and arrested a suspect Wednesday night.
A 33-year-old Chatham man was charged with a number of offences in connection with the case and later released with conditions and a future court date.

Senior accused of stunt driving
A 73-year-old Corunna man is charged with stunt driving after Chatham-Kent police allegedly recorded him going more than 60 kilometres per hour over the speed limit.
Officers said that was on Talbot Trail Wednesday afternoon.
The man is accused of driving a vehicle that was going 123 km/h in a posted 60 km/h zone.
His vehicle was impounded for seven days and his licence was suspended for a week.

Chatham man charged with firearm-related offences
A 43-year-old Chatham man is facing a number of charges in connection with a police investigation into some domestic-related incidents.
Chatham-Kent police said the man is accused of several offences including pointing a firearm at someone, assaulting someone with a weapon, and threatening someone.
He was arrested Thursday afternoon and taken to the courthouse pending a bail hearing.

Two traffic complaints lead to a pair of arrests
Chatham-Kent police arrested a 36-year-old man early Thursday morning in connection with a theft investigation after getting a report about a suspicious man impeding traffic on St. Clair Street in Chatham.
Police said they allegedly found some stolen bank cards and stolen identification on the man while they were responding to the call. He was charged and taken into custody pending a bail hearing.
Officers made another arrest in connection with a separate traffic complaint early Thursday morning -- this time it involved a man accused of breaching some of his release conditions.
Police said they took a 38-year-old Delaware man into custody after receiving a complaint about a red pick-up truck. An officer on general patrol pulled over the vehicle and found the man, who was a passenger in the vehicle, allegedly had alcohol in his system even though he wasn't supposed to leave his residence with alcohol in his body.
The accused was arrested, charged with failing to comply, and taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Woman charged with being intoxicated in public
A 19-year-old Chatham woman is in trouble with the law after an officer allegedly found her standing in the middle of the street at around late Wednesday night.
Police said the woman, who was wearing all dark clothing at the time, was taken into custody for her own safety and charged with public intoxication. She was released Thursday morning once she sobered up.

Boat motor reported stolen
Chatham-Kent police are asking for tips from the public as they try to track down a 1986 white and blue Johnson Outboard 6HP motor that was reported stolen from a shed on Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg.
It was taken sometime between Monday and Wednesday.

Break-ins at Chatham pet store, Car and Dog Wash
Chatham-Kent police are also appealing to the public for help as they investigate two other break-ins that took place earlier this week.
Officers said someone tried to cut into a coin machine at the Car and Dog Wash on Grand Avenue East in Chatham sometime between 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Tuesday -- the damages are estimated at $500.
In a separate break-in, someone smashed the front glass doorway at the Living Things Pet Store on St. Clair Street sometime Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning.
Investigators are still trying to determine what, if anything, was stolen.
