Woman charged with public intoxication at family gathering

A female family member was visiting from out of town and had allegedly become intoxicated and belligerent during the visit.

It happened on Saturday after police attended in Bothwell in regards to a family dispute.

After getting into a physical altercation with her nephew police were notified.  Upon arrival, the police observed the woman and her nephew in a scuffle on the front lawn.

The woman was arrested with being intoxicated in a public place and transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters where she was held until she was sober.

Woman violates bail conditions

A woman was found by police in violation of her bail release conditions.

In May of 2019 a Chatham woman was released on an undertaking with a condition that she could not have alcohol in her body while outside of her residence.

On Saturday the woman was found by police in the middle of the road.  Upon police request, the woman refused to move onto the sidewalk and continued away from the officer.

Police were able to stop her and it was determined that the woman had allegedly consumed alcohol and was in contravention of her release conditions.

She was arrested and transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters where she was held for a bail hearing.

 Yard work assault

Two men got into an argument while doing yard work.

It happened on Saturday at a Talbot Trail residence in Blenheim. Police attended the residence for an assault complaint.

The homeowner became angry with his friend and allegedly struck him while he was seated.  Police were notified and the homeowner was arrested for assault, transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters where he was released on an undertaking with a future court date.
