Man accused of using someone else's credit card

Police said the investigation started after someone broke into a vehicle on Chestnut Drive in Chatham sometime late Thursday night or early Friday morning and stole some credit cards and personal identification.

Officers said they also learned that one of the credit cards had been used at a local grocery store to make three purchases, so they pulled some video surveillance of the transactions and were able to identify a suspect.

Police arrested a 26-year-old man of no fixed address Monday night and charged him with possession of a credit card knowing it was obtained by an offence, unauthorized use of a credit card, and possession of property obtained by a crime.

He was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.
