Business as usual for Chatham-Kent buses

CKTransit is operating as usual but urging its riders to take precautions.

In an update Tuesday morning, municipal officials said CKTransit will continue its conventional, accessible, and inter-urban transit on its regular schedule. This also includes CKTransit's new On-Request pilot program.

In the meantime, CKTransit is introducing proactive measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

"The CKTransit service providers have increased their sanitization measures and protocols effective immediately," stated the release. "We ask that if you are ill or experiencing fever, cough or shortness of breath avoid using public transit if at all possible. We also ask that you respect social distancing when using public transit by way of keeping empty seats between you and other riders if at all possible."

The municipality added it's continuing to take direction from the Medical Officer of Health and transit service will continue to operate until given direction otherwise.
