Some scheduling changes are coming into effect for CK Transit, which will see most routes return to normal.
Starting on Monday, Routes 1-4 will return to normal operating hours from 6:15 a.m. until 7:15 p.m. on a 30-minute basis, Monday-Saturday.
Route 5 will also resume normal hours from 6:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. on an hourly basis, Monday-Saturday.
Some transit services will stick with altered schedules until further notice. Sunday service for Chatham and Wallaceburg Accessible will remain suspended. It will operate Monday-Saturday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
The 6:45 p.m. departure for Inter-Urban Routes A, C, and D from the Chatham terminal will still be suspended. However, all other departures will run.
The recently launched CK Transit On-Request program will also remain suspended.
Municipal officials are reminding riders, CK Transit is to be used for essential travel only during the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. Essential travel includes trips to and from work and to get essential items.
Social distancing measures will continue to be enforced on buses and no more than six riders are allowed on at once.
Scheduling changes have been ongoing since March, as a result of COVID-19. The municipality had previously stated that Chatham-Kent Seasonal Beach Bus, which was scheduled to start operating on May 15, will remain on hold until further notice.
