Zero new COVID-19 deaths in London-Middlesex

No new deaths related to COVID-19 were reported on Monday, with the number of fatalities remaining at 48.

According to the latest figures released by the Middlesex London Health Unit, there were two new cases of the novel coronavirus reported on Monday in the region. This brings the total number of cases to 473 since the pandemic began.

Ninety-four of those cases are in local long-term care homes while 59 are in retirement homes. To date, there's been 21 deaths in long-term care homes and seven in retirement homes.

A total of 337 individuals have recovered from the virus in the London-area, up from 334 on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Ontario health officials reported a 1.3 per cent increase in cases on Monday, bringing the provincial total to  22,957.

Across Canada, the number of cases is at 77,306
